The energy crisis is defined as any great shortfall (or price rise) in the supply of energy to an economy. It usually refers to the shortage of oil, electrical energy or other natural resources. What has been obvious more or less petroleum is that demand for this resource has increased dramatically in the past five years although production has not. Prices at the heart and soul of a gas station just three month ago were an extremely high three dollars a gal as compared to five years ago when it was just one dollar a gallon.

This tells us something very important. Petroleum which is a nonrenewable resource (meaning that it will eventually become as well expensive to obtain from our environment) will eventually run out,
