Yes, there is more then one climax in Tropical Blues; one of them is when Amys son is killed. The play starts off with normal day-to-day life with all of the girls in prison, it then shows how Amy is trying her hardest to get her boys back and do decently by them.
Amy: Hey, Im just playing! Ms. arena, you chouse Im just playing. Glad to have a job. Im gonna work hard, and save me near capital so I can get my babies back.
Once Amy has the reclaim mind setting she then gets this terrible news from Ms. Heavens that her son has been killed.
Heavens: Amy, he playing perioded up wanting(p) last week.
