Abstract In today?s belligerent global village, a number of companies and institutions find themselves faced with the affect to implement enterprise resource planning (ERP) corpses in rank to edge out their competitors. Examples of ERP systems include such kind as SAP, Oracle, People-Soft etc. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is an integrated computer-based system used to manage internal and external resources, including tangible assets, pecuniary resources, materials, and human resources. Its purpose is to facilitate the flow of information among all business functions inside the boundaries of the organization and manage the connections to exterior stakeholders. Built on a centralized database and normally utilizing a common computing platform, ERP systems consolidate all business operations into a uniform and enterprise-wide system environment.

Most ERP implementations have failed to hit the desired objectives due to the fact that in most cases, innate project management functions ar either completely ignored, or compromised. Planned and systematically adopted risk management physical process is crucial to keep projects (ERP) on time and within figure with all requirements fulfilled [2]. This paper shall assess the elements of risk, to be interpreted into consideration in the planning stage of the project. These are elements that are likely to hamper the successful implementation of an ERP system at UB. When these risks occur, they may result in failure to satisfy stakeholder ask; poor system configuration; failure to manage the channelize process and other pertinent issues.
