Why didnt anyone try to stop them? this is the question that started it all. The shudder by Morton Rhue is about a history teacher, Ben Ross, who does an experiment on his senior history class to answer the question he couldnt; Why the Germans allowed Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party to rise to power and how they could forge themselves to kill all those innocent people. In the novel Morton Rhue discusses the dangers and benefits associated with The Wave guidewords and how power can affect individuals and organisations negatively. Ben Ross and Robert Billings are both with child(p) examples of how the author exposed this. The three motors were strength through with(predicate) theatre of operations, strength through community and strength through action mechanism. Throughout the wave everyone became more involved and was treated equally, thus far this was the only positive thing that came out of the wave.
Strength through field of operations was the origin of the three mottos introduced to Mr Rosss history class. His first lessons on discipline were about how to sit in good order and exercises on how they should answer questions. You can tell that the students liked macrocosm disciplined through a comment made by Mr Ross I would have thought they would all hate universe ordered around and forced to sit straight and count answers.
Instead they took to it like theyd been waiting for something like this their unanimous lives. It was weird (Pg.34). After a couple of lessons the students got the hung of standing at attention answer to questions. Everyone started to get really involved in this method of learning and it was no longer thought of it as a game, The fierce exchange of questions and answers, the quest for perfect discipline it had been infectious and, in a way, mesmerizing. (Pg.35-Ben Ross). But discipline wasnt the only part of the wave.
