Hamlet is melancholy, bitter, and cynical, full of hatred for his uncle and disgust at his sire for marrying him. When the jot of Hamlets father appears and claims to have been murdered by Claudius, Hamlet becomes haunt with avenging his fathers death but keeps thinking of reasons why he should retain befo re killing Claudius, then beats himself up for weakness to act boldly. Hamlet is a character of contradictions. He admires characters resembling Fortinbras and the Player King, who behave passionately and even violently for no good reason, but is himself thoughtful, reflective, and philosophical, and quite charming to say the least.

At times Hamlet is indecisive and hesitant, but at other times he is prone to rash and impulsive acts of violence. Hamlet I believe is the most complex character playacting so many different moods throughout the story and adapting to many different situation such as his fathers death and his mothers re marry to his uncle.
